Missed Call Text Back for Contractors

They hung up. They did not leave. Yet.

A lot of people do not leave a voicemail for a trade. They hang up and call the next name. A text from your number within seconds keeps them with you, because replying to a text is easier than dialing another company. It is the cheapest fix we install and often the first one, and it works even if you never want an AI answering your phone.

The text thread

Thirty seconds after a missed call.

Your shopHi, this is [your shop]. Sorry we missed you, we are on a job. What can we help with?
CustomerKitchen sink is backing up, nothing is draining
Your shopThat we can fix. Is it just the kitchen sink, or are other drains slow too?
CustomerJust the kitchen
Your shopGood, that is usually a local clog. We can come tomorrow 9 to 11 or 1 to 3. Want one of those?
Customer9 to 11 please
Your shopDone. You are booked for tomorrow 9 to 11 at the address you give us next. What is the address?

When a call is missed today

  • No voicemail left, so you do not even know who it was
  • You call back at 6pm and get no answer
  • The customer booked whoever answered first
  • You paid for that call through ads or your Google profile and lost it anyway

With text back

  • A text from your own business number within seconds
  • It asks what they need and offers real times
  • Booked jobs land in your calendar or field software
  • Anything unusual is flagged to you with the full thread
  • Works alongside your current phone, no new number needed

How it gets set up

Usually the first thing we switch on.

  1. We register your business number for texting so messages actually deliver (Canadian and US carriers require this now).
  2. We write the first message and the follow up questions in your shop’s voice.
  3. Missed calls from your main line trigger the text. You choose the hours.
  4. Replies come into one inbox on your phone, so you can jump in any time.

Built alongside Jobber, ServiceTitan, Housecall Pro, Workiz, FieldEdge and ServiceM8, so nothing moves out of the software you already run.

FAQ

Text back questions.

No. It runs on your existing business number in most cases. Where your carrier does not allow it, we set up a number that forwards to your phone and texts from the same name.

Anything outside normal booking is handed to you right away with the whole thread, so you are not surprised.

You set a list of numbers it never texts. Known contacts are skipped.

No. Text back works on its own and is cheaper. Many shops start here and add the receptionist when they see how many calls they were missing.

To get started, $600 to $1,500 one time, then $200 to $800 a month. Those are starting points, not a fixed menu; the final price depends on what you need and what we agree on together. After the build it is month to month, 30 days notice, no exit fee.
